November is Jesuit Vocations Month

St. Ignatius and his original companions were the first to answer God's call and serve him as Jesuits.

St. Ignatius and his original companions were the first to answer God’s call and form the Society.

Today, November 5, is the feast of All Saints and Blesseds of the Society of Jesus, a day to remember Jesuits who lived holy lives; additionally, November is National Jesuit Vocations Month, when we pray for men to discern a call to the Society of Jesus.

All of the Jesuit saints, blesseds and venerables who are remembered today once discerned their own vocations. Some wanted families and others wanted careers as soldiers or merchants. Eventually, through prayer, they came to the realization that the best way for them to live their life was as a priest or brother in the Society of Jesus.

Please join the Society in praying for vocations throughout the month of November.

Father,
in the name of Jesus,
through the power of Your Holy Spirit,
we pray that You inflame the hearts of men
with courage and trust
and the desire to labor for Your kingdom
as Jesuits.
We ask You
through the intercession of Mary, our Mother,
St. Ignatius, and all Your saints,
to bless the Society of Jesus
with bountiful vocations
that it may continue to serve Your church
with passion and zeal.
May Your will be done.
Amen.
