Fairfield University, the Jesuit University in Connecticut, recently honored one of its prestigious alumni, John C. Meditz ’70, during a dedication ceremony for the newly named Meditz Hall. Remarks were given by Fairfield President Fr. Jeffrey von Arx, SJ, and Mr. Meditz as well as Alexander Cucchi ’15 the student body president.

“We often talk about the importance of ‘giving back,’ and of ‘service to our fellow men and women’ when we talk about the unique emphasis of a Jesuit education. For John, these are values he has taken to heart,” said Fr. von Arx of Mr. Meditz. “It is his example, his leadership, and his genuine humility for which we are most grateful.”

Mr. Meditz is a thorough product of Jesuit education. A graduate of Xavier High School in addition to Fairfield, he has served on Fairfield’s board of trustees for several years. In addition to being a supporter of Fairfield University, Mr. Meditz is an active donor of the New York Province Society of Jesus and has provided a generous challenge gift.

The newly christened Meditz Hall houses nearly 200 juniors and seniors. Click here to read more.
