Feast of St. Patrick

Today, March 17, is the Feast of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick was enslaved as a teenager and brought to Ireland where he stayed for six years. He eventually returned home where he studied Christianity and became a bishop. He would return to Ireland to spread Christianity to the pre-Christian Irish people.

The prayer below is commonly referred to as the Breastplate of St. Patrick. It is a Christian hymn inspired by a prayer that is attributed to St. Patrick.
