Georgetown University Press recently sponsored the thirteenth annual “Keenan Dinner,” in honor of Fr. James Keenan, SJ, who served as editor of 52 books in Georgetown University Press’ Moral Traditions series for the past two decades. Fr. Keenan is also known for his role in establishing the Catholic Theological Ethics in the World Church project. The dinner was an opportunity to celebrate the authors of works published in the series.

This was Fr. Keenan’s last dinner as editor, he will be stepping down and passing the torch to three new editors: Dave Cloutier, Kristen Heyer and Fr. Andrea Vicini, SJ.

Cathleen Kaveny, a writer for Commonweal magazine and author in the series, reflected on her own time working with him, saying, “Jim has been a great series editor: he supports you when you need support, and he prods you when you need prodding. His comments are always acute and always constructive.”
