Fr. Frederico on the “Pope Francis Effect”

pope_francis_02Fr. Charles Frederico, SJ, vocation director for the Maryland, New England and New York Provinces recently reflected on the ways that Pope Francis has already started to influence Jesuit vocations.

Fr. Frederico outlined the three distinct age groups of men who are interested in the Society of Jesus, pointing out ways each group has grown since Pope Francis was elected in March 2013. “We are finding that more young men are in fact contacting our Vocation Office with varied levels of interest about the possibility of discerning a Jesuit vocation,” he writes. “Overall, these are busy and exciting times for vocations to the Jesuits.”
