Fr. James Keenan, SJ, of the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry recently participated in a podcast for America magazine, focusing on his role in establishing the Catholic Theological Ethics in the World Church project. The project came together as a way for teachers of theological ethics to meet and discuss their work. Up until that point most people working in theological ethics had not had the chance to meet one another.
“Because we teach ethics, theological ethics, we have a lot of interlocutors. Some of them are in medicine, some are in business, some are in law…but we really don’t sufficiently talk enough to one another,” Fr. Keenan said. The first meeting of theology ethics educators took place in 2006, and the network has grown since.
