Jesuits ordained deacons by Cardinal O’Malley

Newly ordained Jesuit deacons with Fr. Jim Gartland, SJ, rector of the Peter Faber Jesuit community at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry.

October 18th- Archbishop of Boston, Cardinal Seán O’Malley, OFM.Cap., ordained nine men to the order of the diaconate on October 12 at the Jesuit parish, St. Ignatius of Loyola in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Among the nine ordinands, eight were Jesuits including two Jesuits from the New England Province: Mario Powell and Thomas Simisky. Also ordained was one member of the Redemptorist order.

The newly ordained deacons are:

+Robert E. Murphy, S.J.
+Mario M. Powell, S.J.
+Michael D. Rozier, S.J.
+Samuel J. Sawyer, S.J.
+Paul J. Shelton, S.J.
+Thomas M. Simisky, S.J.
+David K. Verghese, C.Ss.R
+Nathan C. Wendt, S.J.
